🌸 Rising Through the Storm: Blooming From My Story

🌸 Rising Through the Storm: Blooming From My Story

I didn’t grow up with stability. My childhood was painted with moments no child should have to endure — the echoes of domestic violence, the shadows of drug and alcohol abuse, the uncertainty of never knowing if tonight meant another shelter or another move.

By the time I reached high school, I had already walked through the doors of more than twelve different schools. Each one felt like starting over. New faces. New teachers. New hallways. And behind every smile I tried to wear, there was a girl carrying the weight of instability and fear.

But here’s the part that matters most: those experiences did not break me — they built me.

The constant moving taught me how to adapt, how to connect, how to see people with empathy. The shelters taught me how to survive, but more importantly, they taught me the importance of community — how one caring voice could bring hope in the middle of chaos. The trauma showed me pain, yes, but it also revealed resilience I never knew I had.

🌱 Today, I am not defined by the hardships of my past. I am defined by how I chose to rise from them. I became determined to take the same struggles that once made me feel powerless and turn them into fuel for purpose.

That purpose is Leigha’s Girls.

This nonprofit exists to stand in the gap for girls who are where I once was — searching for stability, guidance, and love in a world that sometimes feels cruel and unstable. It’s here to show them that they are not alone, that their story is not finished, and that their struggles can one day become their strength.

🦋 If my past taught me anything, it’s this: you can bloom even in the harshest soil. And when we nurture our girls with mentorship, healing, and life skills, we give them the chance to bloom faster, stronger, and brighter than they ever thought possible.

💕 A Note to Every Girl Reading This

If your story feels heavy right now, please know — it does not end in the pain. You are resilient. You are worthy of love. You are not broken; you are becoming.
