Chapter Seven: The River That Stopped Fighting

The Butterfly Series, Book One: Cocoon Rooted

A river rushed through the hills and became angry whenever stones stood in her path. She pushed against them until her water turned rough and tired.

“If I were stronger,” she thought, “nothing would slow me down.”

One day, the river noticed a small stream moving calmly around a fallen branch. The stream did not surrender. It simply chose another way forward.

The river tried the same. She curved around one stone, flowed over another, and rested in a quiet pool before continuing. She discovered that flexibility was not weakness. It was wisdom.

You do not have to fight every obstacle in the same way. Changing your plan, taking a pause, or asking for support can help you keep moving toward what matters.

Rooted Reflection

  1. What obstacle are you pushing against right now?
  2. What is another way you could move forward?
  3. When would a pause help you?

Glow Notes

  • I can change my approach without giving up.
  • Rest can be part of progress.
  • I am allowed to choose a gentler path.

River Practice

Move one hand through the air like flowing water. Breathe in as your hand rises and breathe out as it curves. Repeat three times while saying, “I can move with wisdom.”
