Chapter Eleven: The Seed That Broke Open

The Butterfly Series, Book One: Cocoon Rooted

A seed felt a crack appear along her shell and became frightened. For her entire life, the shell had kept her safe.

“I am falling apart,” she whispered.

But the crack widened, and a tiny root emerged. Then a green shoot reached upward. What felt like breaking was also the beginning of becoming.

The seed did not lose everything she had been. She carried it forward in a new form. Her courage was not the absence of fear. It was allowing growth to continue while fear was present.

Change can feel uncomfortable, even when it leads somewhere good. You can honor what you are leaving behind while welcoming who you are becoming.

Rooted Reflection

  1. What change feels scary right now?
  2. What might be trying to grow through that change?
  3. Who can support you while you adjust?

Glow Notes

  • I can feel afraid and still move forward.
  • Change does not erase who I am.
  • New beginnings can grow from hard openings.

Opening Practice

Make a gentle fist. Breathe in. As you breathe out, slowly open your hand. Repeat three times and say, “I can open at my own pace.”
