The Butterfly Series, Book One: Cocoon Rooted
There was once a small seed resting beneath the soil. Above her, the world was noisy with blooming flowers, singing birds, and trees stretching toward the sun.
The seed could not see any of it. All she could feel was darkness and the weight of the earth around her.
She began to wonder if everyone else was moving forward while she remained stuck. She pushed against the soil, but nothing seemed to change. She whispered, “Maybe I am not growing at all.”
Deep beneath the surface, something quiet was happening. A tiny root was reaching downward. Another was learning where to find water. Her shell was softening so that new life could emerge.
The seed could not see her progress because her most important work was happening where no one could applaud it.
Then one morning, she felt warmth. She leaned toward it slowly. The soil gave way, and a green shoot reached the light.
She had never been stuck. She had been becoming.
Some seasons of your life will look still from the outside. You may not have proof yet. You may not feel ready yet. That does not mean nothing is happening. Roots often grow before flowers appear.
Rooted Reflection
- Where in your life do you feel stuck right now?
- What quiet growth might already be happening within you?
- What would trusting your own timing look like this week?
Glow Notes
- I am growing even when my progress is quiet.
- I do not have to rush my becoming.
- My roots deserve time to become strong.
Root Breath
Place both feet on the floor. Breathe in slowly and imagine roots growing beneath you. Breathe out and release the pressure to prove your progress. Repeat three times and say, “Still does not mean stuck.”
